Sixteenth Birthday Party

Cambodians like to party - here's our helper's grandaughter's sixteenth birthday party! They live in the countryside, so we headed out there for the party. It's pretty country out there, but she was sure dressed up! She changed dresses four times during the party! All of the family was there - there are lots and lots of aunts and uncles as well as cousins! A lot of her friends were there too. We ate dinner out there and it was raining, so we didnt' get to dance!
This is one of her friends giving her her birthday present.
Here are the only two Americans in that part of Cambodia offering their gift.

Here's Davis who's enjoying eating the birthday cake! JT and I tried to decline offers to eat the cake - it sure looks pretty, but doesn't taste very good! It's sort of disappointing! Isobel is asleep in the hammock behind Davis!

Here's Hudson smiling while the "Happy Birthday" song plays and the silly string is getting ready to be everywhere! We had a great time at the party and really enjoying going out to the countryside. Everybody likes to just hang out and talk - and the kids always have fun seeing the chickens, cows, rice fields and getting play in the clean open air.
